Lingo Arena — a language-learning quiz game

The short version

We collect only what the game needs to work: your account details, your gameplay results, and standard technical data (like your IP address in server logs).
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or any advertising identifiers.
The game currently contains no ads and no analytics or tracking tools.
We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising.
You can delete your account at any time — deletion is immediate and permanent.

1. Who we are

Lingo Arena is developed and operated by Siniša Pavković, an independent developer. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email spsavkovic@gmail.com and you will get a reply from the person who actually runs the game.

2. What we collect

Account information

What we store depends on how you sign in:

Sign-in method	What we collect
Play as guest	A randomly generated device identifier, created by the app so your progress can be saved without an account. It is not your phone's advertising ID and cannot identify you personally.
Email account	Your email address, a username / display name you choose, and your password. Passwords are stored in a protected (hashed) form — we cannot see them.
Sign in with Google	Your name, email address, and profile picture, as shared by Google when you approve the sign-in. We never see your Google password.
Sign in with Steam	Your Steam ID and display name, as shared by Steam. We never see your Steam password.

Gameplay information

Game results: scores, correct and wrong answers, streaks, time played.
Progress: experience points (XP), level, coins, per-language belts, achievements, and league placement.
Word history: which words you have answered correctly or incorrectly, so the game can choose better questions for you.
Social features you choose to use: your friends list, friend code, challenges, and multiplayer match history.

Technical information

Standard server logs, which include your IP address and the time of each request. We use these to keep the service running, to prevent abuse (for example, limiting repeated login attempts), and to investigate errors.
If the game encounters an error, an automatic error report is created so we can fix it. These reports are configured not to include your personal details.

What we do not collect

The app requests only one permission: internet access. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, or advertising ID. There are no advertising or analytics tools inside the app.

3. Why we use your data

To run the game: save your progress, show leaderboards, match you with other players, and award achievements and belts.
To operate your account: sign you in, send email verification and password-reset messages (only when you request them), and let friends find you by your friend code.
To keep the service safe: prevent spam, abuse, and unauthorized access.
To fix problems: investigate errors and crashes.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build marketing profiles, and we do not send promotional emails.

4. What other players can see

Lingo Arena is a multiplayer game. Your display name, avatar, level, belts, achievements, and scores are visible to other players in matches, on leaderboards, and on your public profile inside the game. Your email address and sign-in details are never visible to anyone.

5. Services that help us run the game

Like almost every online game, Lingo Arena runs on trusted service providers. They process data only on our behalf, only to provide their service:

Service	What it does for us
Railway	Hosts the game server and database (where your account and progress are stored).
Cloudinary	Delivers game images (belt and trophy artwork) to the app. When the app downloads an image, Cloudinary sees standard request data such as your IP address.
Sentry	Collects automatic error reports so we can fix bugs. Configured not to include personal details.
Resend	Delivers account emails (verification and password reset) to your email address.
Google	Only if you choose "Sign in with Google" — Google confirms your identity to us. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
Steam (Valve)	Only if you choose "Sign in with Steam" — Steam confirms your identity to us. Steam's own privacy policy applies to your Steam account.

We never sell your data and never share it with anyone for advertising or marketing.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is removed from the live database immediately and permanently — including your profile, game history, word history, achievements, and friendships. Residual copies in routine database backups and server logs expire automatically on a rolling basis, typically within 30 days.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account in three ways:

In the app: Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm; deletion takes effect immediately.
Online: visit lingoarena.app/delete-account, enter your account email, and follow the confirmation link we send you. No app required.
By email: write to spsavkovic@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account (or include your username / friend code so we can find it). We will delete the account and confirm within 30 days — usually much sooner.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Guest accounts can be deleted in the app or by email.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation), you may have the right to:

ask for a copy of the data we hold about you,
correct data that is wrong,
delete your data (see above),
object to or restrict certain processing, and
complain to your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email spsavkovic@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Lingo Arena is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/WSS). Passwords are stored only in hashed form. Access to the database is restricted to the developer.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy — for example, if a future version of the game adds new features that collect new data — we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app.
